ABOUT DR. BODHISE DR. PAUL BROWN BODHISE

Dr. Bodhise earned his Bachelor's degree from LaSalle University and a Doctorate at New York Chiropractic College. He completed postgraduate courses in Bio-Mechanics of Scoliosis and Related Treatments at The International Scoliosis Research Center. He completed Alternative Medicine studies with The Institute of Natural Resources in Berkeley, California and Massage Therapy at Integral Psycho Structural Balance Massage School, Culver City, CA.
His clinical background extends to thousands of patients treated for various musculoskeletal and nutritional diagnosis in his practices in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Jamaica. He has held the position of Co-chair of the Holistic Health Sub-Committee for the City of Philadelphia, Commissioner on The Citizens Commission for Human Rights, and a member of The Global Initiative for AIDS Nutritional Therapy (headed by former Ambassador and Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young).
Dr. Bodhise held the position of Director of AID FOR AFRICA - THE HOLISTIC APPROACH -- a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing natural health practices to combat AIDS in the African Diaspora. Dr. Bodhise also is author of "Holistic Approach to Sickle Cell," a scientific abstract published by The American Hemotology Association.
Dr. Bodhise is Founder of the United Nations Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Global Alternative Medicine, whose mission is to assist underdeveloped countries in the development and usage of alternative healing modalities in herbs, agriculture and health care. He also is author of "Holistic Survival Kit (for the Mind, Body and Soul)."
As a published alternative healer and ordained minister with a background as a teacher on the treatise, "A Course in Miracles," he has become a sought after lecturer for his scientific knowledge and compassionate approach to health and healing.
BODHISE TECHNIQUE 
The Bodhise Skeletal Massage Neuro-Muscular Technique
This technique was designed by Dr. Paul Brown Bodhise during his 20 years of education including: Skeletal Massage, Joint Manipulation, Neuro-Muscular Trigger-Point Therapy, Accupressure, Lymph Drainage, Deep Connective Tissue Massage, and his experience with various patients. This technique directs itself to the healing of musculo-skeletal injuries and lesions, which have thwarted previous treatment. The objective is to alleviate pain, discomfort, and loss of function. Furthermore, it's affect helps to revitalize and increases the healing of tendons, ligaments, muscle and bone by increasing cellular metabolism and reproduction.
How Is This Technique Applied?
This is a hands on medicinal healing technique applied by Dr. Bodhise, for proper application to the various aspects of the bodily anatomy once lesions have been palpated. The doctor determines where and how the force is applied and its agulization. The Bodhise Technique is approached very cautiously in order to make certain that no further injury is made to the patient.
Who Can Have This Technique?
Only after careful review of case histories, physical findings, X-rays and MRI's, neurological reports, and an analysis of the patient's constitution, is the patient cleared for this kind of technique by the doctor.
What The Technique Does
This technique is designed to increase the blood flow to target organs, increase the movement of the lymphatic fluids, create changes in stress level in the interior aspects of the injury site and bone / joint-muscular and/or organ structures. These fundamental changes at the site of the lesion causes a healing to the interior aspects of the injury site, a turn-over of cellular reproduction and an overall positive change in the metabolism of the body in general. There is a change in the gladular and hormonal flow at the site and throughought the body, giving an effect of reduction of pain, increased mobility and strengthening of the structure and its functioning.

Abstract
Patients with sickle cell disease (SCD) suffer from both acute and chronic pain. The latter includes avascular necrosis of the hip joints mostly in the adult population. It has a negative impact on the quality of life of affected individuals and is often associated with depression, disability, unemployment and dependence on opioid analgesics. In this study, we show that a non-pharmacologic approach to management with deep tissue/deep pressure massage therapy technique, including neuromuscular trigger point treatment with acupressure, in patients with SCD has a salutary effect on pain relief and quality of life.
